the 4 hour work week – timothy ferris
You will not think the same way again about your business after you’ve finished reading this book. A must read for those interested in creating a business where the focus is to eventually step out and be the owner, not the worker. The thing is when you plan for it, all your decisions are based on it. Timothy Ferriss calls it ‘experiments in lifestyle design’. It’s an entertaining guide to achieving that lifestyle you’ve always wanted but didn’t dare admit, rationally presented as a series of steps predicated on a fundamental rule: reality is negotiable…outside of science and law, all rules can be bent or broken. It is certainly a ‘must read’ for anyone who is looking at a better way to work, get out of the rat race, find more in life and all the other cliches. Its entertaining, the anecdotes make the read a pleasure. I loved it and re-read it from time to time.
think and grow rich – napoleon hill (free copy)
My grandfather first gave me the original copy of this book when I was about 10. I read it then but didn’t realise the significance of it until 30 years later. He has since passed on, but the gesture of this great man has never left me. Before we conquer the obstacles on our life’s path we must first conquer ourselves. The biggest journey we ever take is the one on the inside. The book came about because Napolean Hill was asked by Andrew Carnegie if he would be willing to research the most wealthiest people of that time and collate the commonalities. He spent 20 years of his life doing it. Like any great book, you have to be ready to receive the information and even better if you hunger for it. Here’s to your success!”
why successful people leave work early
Try this for a day: don’t answer every phone call. Stop checking your email every two minutes. And leave work early. You’ll be astounded at how much more you’ll get done. According to a study published in the Psychological Review conducted by Dr. K. Anders Ericcson, the key to great success is working harder in short bursts of time. Then give yourself a break before getting back to work.
